The location of Telford's Christmas lights switch-on has had to be moved – to cope with an expected influx of Peter Andre fans.

Andre is set to switch on the lights at Telford Shopping Centre on November 19, but the site for the switch-on has been changed this year as organisers expect huge numbers to attend.

The annual switch-on is usually held in the Ash Grey car park which is between Marks & Spencer and House of Fraser, but this year has been moved to the larger Red Oak car park, close to Boots and Debenhams.

Chris Jones, centre director at Telford Shopping Centre, said: "We are expecting this year's Christmas lights switch on event to be bigger and better than ever. The relocation to Red Oak car park will provide more space for the anticipated increase in spectators to see Peter Andre.

"There has already been a lot of interest in the event and there are still more acts to announce in the coming weeks."

The Strictly Come Dancing and reality television star will be the guest of honour at the annual free event, which will also coincide with the opening of Santa's Grotto at the centre.

There will also be entertainment from 6pm until 8pm at Southwater.

Peter Andre is famous for his Reality TV show Peter Andre: My Life and for starring in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2004.
