Thousands respond to Shrewsbury swimming pool survey
More than 2,000 people have responded to a consultation on the future of Shrewsbury's Quarry swimming pool.
The five-month consultation, which closes today, asked people to consider where they believe the pool should be located, with a choice of seven options.
Shropshire Council will now consider the responses before making a recommendation on its preferred option, which is expected to be considered at a cabinet meeting in February next year.
The consultation has seen a significant and vocal campaign for a swimming pool to be retained in the town centre.
The options include refurbishing or carrying out an extensive renovation of The Quarry.
New sites at Shrewsbury College, at Shrewsbury Sports Village, off Clayton Way, or at Ellesmere Road, have also been suggested.
