Woman, 31, arrested after man attacked with 'bladed weapon' in Telford

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attacking a man with a "bladed weapon" in Telford.

The man was attacked in Manor Road, Dawley, near the former Phoenix School site, at about 2.30pm yesterday.

He suffered injuries caused by a bladed instrument, although police cannot confirm what the weapon was.

Witnesses said police cordoned off a house in the street for several hours while a forensic team was at the scene.

Investigations are still ongoing and a 31-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the attack. She currently remains in police custody.

Kieren Bodill spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Officers were called to Manor Road in Dawley at 2.30pm on Monday, in which a man has received injuries believed to be caused by a bladed weapon.

"A 31-year-old woman has since been arrested in connection with the attack, and she is currently on police custody.

"Investigations are still ongoing and we would ask any witnesses to contact us with information."

The man was taken Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment but was later discharged.
