Archie, the African grey bird, went missing in July after owner Rose Casey let him out of his cage due to the hot weather.

He then managed to escape through the window and has not been seen since.

However, Miss Casey has not given up hope, as people are still on the look out for her beloved pet.

Miss Casey, from Meretown, near Newport, said she always let Archie wander around the house – but on this occasion curiosity got the better of him and he got under a mosquito net on the back door.

She said: "He was a fantastic bird and part of our family for eight years this Christmas.

"He loved Christmas, when he saw the Christmas tree he started with his Ho Ho Ho's and didn't stop until March.

"He would land on the tree and pick the baubles off one by one.

"Archie is sorely missed and our family are heartbroken without him - I will never forgive myself for his loss and failing to find him."

Archie is an African Grey parrot with a red tail and an leg ring with his ID on it.

If anyone has information on Archie's whereabouts call Miss Casey on 07917 733127 or (01952) 811022.

A Facebook page called Find Archie has also been set where updates are posted about the search.
