Email row Telford MP Lucy Allan attacks 'bully boys, thugs and henchmen'

Telford MP Lucy Allan has launched a furious attack on rival politicians that she claims are "bully boy councillors, thugs and henchmen".

In the 559-word Facebook post placed on her site late on Monday night, but later removed, she "names and shames" a number of people, some of them serving councillors, who she says have continued to attack her and her reputation.

The now-deleted status on her page also called another critic "creepy" and a "stalker".

She says: "I have been hounded for the last two and a half years, with smears, fear, lies, threats, slurs and abuse: maybe I was fair game, a happy, friendly female who wanted nothing but the best for Telford.

"Now my staff, good decent Telford people who only wanted to do their job well, are fair game too. They have been hounded, harassed, abused and bullied."

Allegations

It is the latest development in a row between the MP and her critics, all stemming from allegations that Ms Allan exaggerated a message about her vote to bomb Syria by claiming that it included a death threat.

She has placed separate complaints to both the Metropolitan Police and West Mercia Police over what she claims is a cyber harassment campaign against her.

She also released a recording of a phone message to her office that included a threat to her.

In Monday's Facebook post she also claimed the people she "named and shamed" had "invented a disgusting slur that somehow I faked a death threat".

She said: "Whose idea was that? Where is this threat that I apparently invented? What threat was it? With some pre-planned organisation this disgusting lie became fact.

"Me and my good-hearted team were threatened, intimidated and abused.

"Well now I have the chance to tell my story as you knew I would. I will because I want Telford to be free from the stranglehold you claim exercises over it. I want Telford to have a choice. I want Telford to have freedom. It was never about me. You got that wrong. It was always about Telford."

Those named in the Facebook post have not responded to the allegations.

Ms Allan was also asked if she stood by her comments, but she did not respond.

The post began: "I chose to come to Telford in March 2013, to give this fantastic, dynamic, thriving town real choice.

"I worked hard, I got to know Telford and Telford got to know me.

"A small group of bully boy councillors, thugs and henchman, not keen on democracy, set out to rid Telford of its democratically elected Member of Parliament.

"I have been hounded for the last two and a half years with smears, fear, lies, threats, slurs and abuse: maybe I was fair game – a happy, friendly female who wanted nothing but the best for Telford.

"Now my staff, good decent Telford people who only want to do their jobs well, are fair game too. They have been hounded, harassed, abused and bullied. It was their dream job."

Following the outbreak of the row, Ms Allan did temporarily leave social media but returned shortly after.

After a 'Sack Lucy Allan' Twitter campaign and a 2,500-name petition calling for her to quit, Ms Allan took to social media again at the start of the week.

Police announced earlier this month that they were investigation a death threat made against Ms Allan.

The threat was made last week, where a man allegedly called Ms Allan's Telford office leaving a voicemail.

A member of her staff then reported the voicemail, which was left anonymously.

On the voicemail Ms Allan said the caller swore at her and called her an offensive name before claiming someone was going to kill her. She said the message concluded with the man saying "hope you die".

The controversy surrounds a message on the MP's Facebook page, attributed to "Rusty, from Dawley", in which he described her as a "robot" with "no empathy for anyone but your super rich buddies and benefactors".
