Police in Newport were called out to an injured otter spotted at the roadside . . . to find it was in fact a fake fur collar.

Officers were told about the "animal" by a concerned motorist driving along Church Road in Lilleshall earlier today.
But in a post on their Twitter feed, officers revealed that it was actually a discarded fake fur collar from a coat.
