Motorcyclist killed in six-vehicle crash which closed A454 near Bridgnorth
A motorcyclist has died in a crash involving six vehicles which closed the A454 near Bridgnorth overnight.
Two other people were injured in the accident which closed the road in both directions at Swancote, outside the former Swancote Country Club, between the B4363 junction and the Stratford Lane junction, shortly after 7pm yesterday.
The crash involved a red Honda motorcycle, a black and grey Suzuki motorbike, blue Toyota, grey Jaguar, black BMW and a silver and grey Isuzu motorbike.
Today police said they were keen to speak to the driver of another vehicle, believed to be a silver Vauxhall Corsa, that was travelling in the same direction as the motorbikes from Bridgnorth to Wolverhampton on the A454.
A spokesman said: "They may have important information that could help investigations."
Earlier, John Hawker, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "Crews arrived to find a motorcyclist that had suffered multiple serious injuries. Unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was sadly confirmed dead at the scene."
"A second motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30s had injuries to his hand and shoulder, he was treated at the scene following the accident at 6.40pm yesterday and was discharged.
"A male car driver was also treated at the scene for a chest injury and was also discharged."
