Missing Shrewsbury man: Police search woodland for Russell Blent, 35
Police have been searching woodland in a bid to find a Shrewsbury man who has been missing from home for almost a month.
Russell Blent was last seen in the early hours of Thursday, March 17, at an address on Moneybrook Way in Meole Brace, Shrewsbury.
In recent days police have been paying particular attention to woodland in the Meole Brace area and have appealed to householders to check sheds, garages and outbuildings for evidence that someone has been sleeping rough.
At one point the force had tents set up in the woodland as part of the search.
Emily Dixon of West Mercia Police said: "Police are continuing to search for missing Shrewsbury man Russell Blent.
"A search of a wooded area near to Mary Webb Road and the Reabrook in Shrewsbury was carried out on April 13 following a report made by a member of the public. This search provided no new leads in the search for Mr Blent.
"Mr Blent, aged 35, is still being treated as a missing person and police are appealing for information to help locate him.
"He was last seen in the early hours of Thursday, March 17. He was last seen at an address on Moneybrook Way in Meole Brace. He is described as white, around 6"1, of heavy build with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing blue jogging bottoms, a grey jacket and blue and white trainers.
"He may be sheltering in garden outbuildings and we are asking residents to check garages and garden sheds for any signs that a person may have been sleeping there."
