The road which connects Shrewsbury and south Shropshire was closed in both directions between the A5 at Dobbies roundabout and the B4371 at Church Stretton after the crash at Dorrington.

Police and ambulance services were called to the crash which involved a white lorry and a silver Chevrolet shortly before 5.30am this morning.

The driver of the car received minor injuries and was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Long delays built up along the main road and around the area as drivers take alternative routes with some reporting as much as 25 minute hold ups.

Officers have appealed for anyone with any information to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 47s of May 3.
