Police investigate suspected arson after car fire in Telford

Police are investigating after suspected arson in Telford after a car was set ablaze and two other damaged.

Firefighters were called to Brands Farm Way in Randlay yesterday morning to reports of a Renault Clio fire. Two other vehicles were damaged in the fire.

Crews received the call at 1.47am and used breathing apparatus and a hosereel jet to put out the flames.

Police were called to the scene after firefighters decided the fire may have been arson.

The fire was put out shortly after 2am.

Emily Dixon, of West Mercia Police, said: "Police were called shortly after 1.50am Thursday morning to report a Renault Clio on fire on Brands Farm Way, Randlay. Two further vehicles sustained damage. No injuries were reported.

"The cause of the fire is not known and arson has not been ruled out at this stage.

"If anyone has information about the incident please contact police on 101 quoting incident reference 32s of May 26."
