Starting from Shropshire County Showground at 9am, the run saw 1,700 participants make their way along the river to Shrewsbury's picturesque Quarry park, then through the historic town centre before heading out over the English Bridge.

The runners then did a loop in the Kingsland estate and returned to the town centre, up the gruelling slope of Wyle Cop, before heading out of town to run the second half of the race in the Shropshire countryside along Ellesmere Road to Huffley Lane, before finally arriving back, 13.1 miles later, at the showground along Berwick Road.
