Funeral date for Shropshire footballer Harry, 19

The funeral of a popular Telford footballer who died suddenly will be held next week.

Allscott AFC and Beacon FC midfielder Harry Hall, 19, died in his sleep last month at his home in Leegomery.

A thanksgiving service to celebrate his life will be held at All Saints Church in Wellington on Thursday at 1pm followed by burial at Hadley and Leegomery Cemetery.

His family said everyone is welcome to attend.

Floral tributes or donations in aid of Epilepsy Research UK will also be welcomed.

Harry, of Warwick Way, had recently finished top of his plumbing course at Shrewsbury College where he was due to be presented with an award.

He played for Shrewsbury Sunday league side Beacon and as a junior had links with Shrewsbury Town, AFC Telford and Wrockwardine Wood.

Since his death on June 26 Allscott AFC launched a £10,000 fundraising appeal to build a new spectator stand at the Shawbirch Road ground in his memory. The crowdfunding project has so far raised almost £2,000.

He is survived by his parents Cath and Mal, and his brother Alex, 24, who previously played for Ellesmere Rangers.
