Crash closes A5 between Shrewsbury and Telford

Two vehicles collided with the central reservation on the A5 between Shrewsbury and Telford, causing the eastbound carriageway to be closed.

The accident, believed to be between an Audi and a people carrier, happened at about 8.15pm on Monday about half way between Shrewsbury and Telford.

The road was shut between Preston Boats island on the outskirts of Shrewsbury and the M54 while emergency services worked at the scene. One lane of the westbound carriageway was also partially blocked.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were at the scene.

No-one is believed to have been seriously injured as a result of the accident.
