Forensics officers from?West Mercia Police were at Ironbridge post office today after the burglary in the early hours.

The burglars are understood to have stolen money from the post office, but police spokeswoman Rachel Anstee said the owners had not yet established exactly how much was taken.

She said: "Police were called at about 1.40am. Scenes of crime officers have been at the scene and are currently investigating.

"The property was empty at the time so there was no confrontation with the burglars."
