Peter Shuker of Berriewood Lane, Condover, denies historical sex offences.

He faces 22 charges including indecent assault, indecency with a child and gross indecency.

The offences are alleged to have taken place against the one boy in the 1960s and 70s and against the second between 2002 and 2004.

He also denies a charge of the indecent assault of a third person, a man, by groping and the sexual assault of a fourth person, a man.

The alleged victims can not be named for legal reasons.

Shuker denies all charges against him.

Miss Michelle Heeley, prosecuting at Shrewsbury Crown Court, said Shuker sexually abused four different boys and men many years apart.

She said he groomed both the boys, gaining their trust before abusing them. He bought one gifts and gave him money.

Miss Heeley told the jury that a trial had been held last year but a technical hitch had meant that the jury had had to be discharged.

She said that after reports in the press at the start of that first trial, two men contacted police to say they had been groped by Shuker, which had let to two further charges being brought against him.

The case is expected to last at least two weeks.
