'We're coming after you': Police in crackdown on Oswestry drug dealers
Police have launched a drive to eliminate drug dealing in Oswestry. A police inspector today warned dealers in the area that officers were "coming after them".
Last week, West Mercia Police executed two drugs warrants in the Oswestry area as part of an ongoing drugs operation, one in the Chaucer Road area of Oswestry and the other in St Martins.
A man was arrested on suspicion of the possession of a class A drug in Oswestry and a man and woman both from the town were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs during the St Martins raid.
All three were released on bail until August.
Inspector Weaver from the Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Working with colleagues from various departments we have continued with our drive to eliminate drug dealing in the Oswestry area. This increased activity follows a number of other warrants executed in the area recently.
"We will continue with this, and my message to those supplying these substances in the area is- we are coming after you. I urge members of the public to contact the police if they are aware of such activity so that we can work with them in an effort to target these dealers."
The warrants were executed after three days of increased policing activity in the area to target those involved in the supply.
There were further arrests for possession with intent to supply controlled substances and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
Numerous other traffic offences were identified which in some cases resulted in vehicles being seized by the police.
