Victim tied up in baseball bat robbery at High Ercall village hall post office

A man was tied up threatened with baseball bats in an armed robbery at a post office set up in a village hall today.

West Mercia Police is investigating the robbery at High Ercall at about 11.30am.

Two men entered the village hall where an outreach post office had been set up.

They threatened a 61-year-old man with baseball bats, tied him up and stole his car keys.

They then made off in his car, a silver Jaguar, which had cash and cigarettes in it.

The man managed to free himself and went to a nearby house to raise the alarm.

He was not seriously injured but was very shaken by the experience.

The offenders were white, both about 6ft tall, and of stocky build. They were wearing boiler suits with hoods up and scarves across their faces.
