Arsonists target Shrewsbury Samaritans

Arsonists targeted a Shropshire branch of the Samaritans charity on Saturday evening.

Fire crews were called to the Shrewsbury branch of Samaritans, at Swan House in Coleham Head, at around 8.50pm on Saturday.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the small blaze involved a doorbell on the exterior door. The fire is being treated as deliberate.

Samaritans is a charity which offers confidential support to people in distress.

The Shrewsbury branch runs workshops at schools and community groups in Shropshire and also works closely with Oakwood Prison, training and supporting inmates.
