Hooded gang rob Shrewsbury house at knifepoint

A group of four hooded men armed with knives have threatened the occupants of a house in Shrewsbury before making off with cash and a bag during a robbery.

The robbery happened at about 12 noon yesterday when the four men entered a property in Ryton Close, threatened the occupants with knives, before making off along Hereford Road and on to Moneybrook Way.

The bag stolen is described as a cream, brown and navy blue weekend bag which contained a black cosmetic bag.

The occupants, a man and a woman, were not injured but were shaken by the incident.

The offenders are all described as being between 18 and 20-years-old and wearing hoodies.

Police officers and a specially trained dog searched the area and made local enquiries but were unable to locate the suspects.

DI Mark Jones said: "This incident happened in the middle of the day so I hope that someone might have seen the offenders arriving or leaving and can identify them for us. Fortunately no-one was injured but I would urge anyone with information to come forward and help us bring the offenders to justice."
