Man knocked unconscious after being hit by group in broad daylight on Telford alleyway

A 21-year-old man suffered injuries to his face and ribs after an assault in broad daylight in Telford.

It happened in an alleyway between Manse Road and Regal Court in Hadley around 11.45am on Saturday.

As the man was walking past a group of four men - two of whom were reportedly drinking alcohol - he was hit on the side of the head and fell to the floor losing consciousness.

After coming round, he was hit again to the face before the men - who are believed to be eastern European - walked away towards Regal Court.

The victim was taken to hospital for further treatment.

PC Dan Follows of West Mercia Police said: "This is a concerning incident and there appears to be no motive behind the assault.

"We are interested in any witnesses who may have seen the assault or a group of four white men drinking together in the Hadley area around the time of the offence.

"We are urging anyone within the community who may have information that can help identify the men to come forward and ensure they are brought to justice."
