Popular country pub to close after landlord who turned its fortunes around calls time
A pub brought back from the brink and turned around by a committed young chef, is set to close.
George Cavendish took over the Feathers Inn in Brockton near Much Wenlock in January 2022, when the pub had a one-star hygiene rating.
The 33-year-old turned it around, and the food-orientated pub was subsequently given a four-star certificate and became one of the most popular country pubs in the area.
But the chef turned pub owner, who used to also run the Glutton Club at Shrewsbury's Welsh Bridge, has announced that he's now calling time at the Feathers Inn.
