Keon Homes, working with Wrekin Housing Group, wants to build the extra care scheme off Mytton Oak Road and says it will include 68 flats and 10 bungalows.

Under plans lodged with Shropshire Council, a series of vacant single-storey buildings at William Farr House will be demolished to make way for the new development.

The buildings were previously used as office space by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, but documents submitted with the application say they have been declared surplus to requirements and their loss will not affect services still currently offered from the other buildings on the site.

All flats and bungalows will be let out as ‘affordable homes’, restricted to over-55s with identified care needs.
