Those travelling on the region's roads this morning had a number of issues to contend with including a number of collisions resulting in road closures, as well as festival-goers making their way to V Festival at Weston Park which starts today.

The B4176 Rudge Heath Road in Claverley is currently closed because of an accident involving a silver Mazda, which saw it collide with the Broad Bridge.

The accident was reported to West Mercia Police shortly after 6am.

According to a spokesman for the police, no injuries were reported, however the Highways Department are at the scene to carry out recovery work following the collision.

Meanwhile in Mid Wales, a two-vehicle crash partially blocked the A489 in between Montgomery and Churkstoke in Powys, also causing slow moving traffic around the B4368 junction this morning.

Sian George, spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police, said: "At about 8am this morning, a two vehicle road traffic collision occurred on an unclassified road between Montgomery and Churchstoke.

"The vehicles involved were a Vauxhall Vivaro van and a Volkswagen Crafter van."

No injuries were reported.

There is also congestion and a number of traffic issues for those heading to V Festival, as the M6 exit slip road at junction 12 for Gailey is shut northbound due to the event.

There is also slow moving traffic on the A5 westbound between Gailey Island, Gailey and the A41 in Weston-under-Lizard.

Staffordshire Police has urged drivers making their way to the festival to leave their sat-navs at home and instead follow the road signs.

While yesterday evening, emergency services were called out after a vehicle came off the carriageway on the A41 in Dorrington, and into a field on its side.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended to make the vehicle safe using small gear.
