Bridgnorth Town have confirmed former Wolves star Tony Dinning has joined the Midland Alliance club as player-coach, writes ALEX JAMES.

New Bridgnorth manager Lee Mills today revealed Dinning had committed to the club after initially offering the midfielder a position last month.

And Mills said he was delighted to have finally got Dinning - who had been training with AFC Telford United - on board. Dinning was likely to make his debut in this afternoon's friendly away at Wem Town.

"I've sold him the bigger picture here and he will be travelling with us to Wem for our friendly," said Mills.

"He had been training with Telford mainly because of Darren Read who he was with at Stafford last season and I think ideally he would like to get a contract somewhere but it hasn't worked out.

"He has joined us now and he is keen to get his foot on the ladder while the opportunity is there for him. He'll be a great addition."
