In a dramatic twist of fate, Telford Tigers have re-incorporated popular Latvian forward Andrejs Maslovskis into the squad - just two weeks after releasing him due to tight finances.

The departure of Marek Hornak this week left the team with just one import player - Tomas Janak - and few options for a replacement with funds limited.

"Andrejs was still here in Telford, still practising with the team and there are no costs in putting him back on the ice," said Tigers player coach Tom Watkins.

"I wasn't sure how he would feel about being asked back, but he is keen to stay here and we know what we are getting."

Maslovskis shrugged off the events of the past fortnight, saying: "This is hockey and these things happen. It is another opportunity for me and I will do my best."
