Summer signing Richard Davies could be thrown into AFC Telford United's promotion push - with boss Andy Sinton set to bring him back from FA Trophy sensations Chasetown.

Midfielder Davies, 20, has been a huge hit during his three months with the Scholars, featuring heavily in their incredible run to the last eight of non-League football's most prestigious competition.

But tonight's Evo-Stik League premier division clash at home to Buxton is likely to be his last game for Chasetown, with Sinton set to extend the former Walsall man's Telford contract.

"His loan finishes tomorrow and I have to decide whether to bring him back but it's likely we will," said Sinton.

"I'd only think about bringing him back if he was likely to be featuring for us and I'd have to say he's got a good chance.

"He's a good player and we rate him. We've got an option on his contract for next season which we will be taking up."

Keeper Ryan Young will be suspended for four games following his sending off in Saturday's 3-0 FA Trophy defeat to Darlington.

The dismissal for violent conduct carries a three-game ban and the FA have decided to impose a fourth as it was his second red card of the season.

He will miss the games against Harrogate, Corby title favourites Alfreton and fellow promotion hopefuls Guiseley.

"You have to take it on the chin," said Sinton, who is now unlikely to appeal due to the inconclusive video evidence of Young's clash with Darlington striker Liam Hatch.

Sinton will send a second string side to play Vodkat League side Eccleshall in a friendly tonight.
