AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton has hailed a successful day of transfer deadline business – with three new faces coming in and one going out.
The Bucks finally got international clearance to sign striker Chris Sharp from Welsh Premier side The New Saints for an undisclosed fee – and the 25-year-old son of former Everton star Graeme could now make his debut at Southport on Saturday.
Sinton has also signed defender Curtley Williams, a former Ipswich trainee who had time at the Glenn Hoddle Academy, as well as ex-Southend, Forest Green and Bath City goalkeeper Ryan Robinson.
Heading out, Northern Irish forward James Lawrie has joined Blue Square Bet North club Altrincham on a month's loan.
On the battle to get clearance for Sharp ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline, Sinton said: "Our chairman Lee Carter worked his socks off to make sure everyone was on the ball at the various organisations involved –credit to him for that.
"Chris has signed for two years and we're delighted to have him. He's ambitious and wants to make the step up, hopefully he can make an impact."
Centre-back Williams, 21, has been brought in as extra cover for injured skipper Shane Killock, though he could be loaned back out to help his match fitness.
Killock had a scan on Tuesday on the sore ribs that have affected his breathing, but the results came back clear yesterday and Sinton is hopeful he will be fit for Southport.
