AFC Telford's Alan Moogan out until Christmas
AFC Telford United player-coach Alan Moogan will go under the knife next Saturday to have groin surgery and is expected to be sidelined until Christmas.
The midfielder has already missed eight games, but at least has a date for surgery with the operation paid for by the Professional Footballers Association.
The 29-year-old then faces a long recovery process and Bucks manager Liam Watson reckons it will be close to the festive season before he can play again.
Watson said: "Alan has got a date through.
"After his recovery, I think we are looking at Christmas before we see him back."
The Telford boss also revealed that midfielder Martyn Jackson's ankle injury is still bothering him and he may miss Tuesday night's friendly at Chester as a result.
Watson said: "Martyn is a bit worse than we actually thought; it's ligament damage.
"It's not serious, though, it's probably just more niggly than anything."
