AFC Telford's Mat Bailey to be 'Mr Versatile'
Versatile Mat Bailey is happy to play wherever he is needed to earn a regular place in Liam Watson's AFC Telford team.
Bailey, 27, made his second appearance for the Bucks as a second-half substitute in Tuesday's 1-0 home win over Vauxhall Motors.
The 6ft 7in player, who has been carrying out rehabilitation work for a cruciate knee ligament injury at the club since the summer, was brought on as a forward for the final 17 minutes.
But Bailey is also just as comfortable playing as a defender and, asked where he preferred to play, he said: "I'll play either to be honest. I don't mind as long as I am in the team and the team is doing well.
"I have played both in the past so wherever Liam needs me I will play for him."
Bailey, who also enjoyed a runout in Saturday's 3-1 win against Stalybridge Celtic, added that he is ahead of schedule in terms of recovery from his injury.
He had expected to be out of action until November but said: "The knee feels really good at the moment.
"I have worked on it for a long time so everything seems to be coming together. It's just about playing as many matches as possible now but it seems to be going well. It's down to the physio here at Telford."
