Welsh Premier side Airbus have signed up prolific AFC Telford United striker Tony Gray.

The 31-year-old hitman netted 20 times in all competitions for the Bucks last season and had been out of contract this summer.

His impressive goal haul could not prevent Telford's relegation from the Conference Premier, but it alerted several other clubs to his abilities in front of goal.

Manager Steve Kittrick had made it clear he wanted to retain Gray's services to help lead the line in the Conference North next season.

But he acknowledged that the player would have several other options and Gray said: "I'm made up. I had a few options, but weighing them all up Airbus was the best for me.

"I had a decent season and scored a few, so I thought there'd be interest, but Airbus showed the most interest and they wanted me the most."

The move sees him re-united with former Chester team mates Matty McGinn, ex of Telford, and Ashley Williams.

Meanwhile, AFC Telford chairman Ian Dosser will take over the role of liaising between the club and Telford & Wrekin Council from managing director Lee Carter.

The decision has been made after Carter's election as borough councillor for College Ward and appointment to the council cabinet.

The Bucks released a statement last night which reads: "After discussion and agreement at the club board, the role of liaison between the club and council will now be undertaken by chairman Ian Dosser."
