Anderson back at Town from AFC Telford

AFC Telford United are set to sign a Conference Premier midfielder – and have let on-loan striker Kaiman Anderson return to Shrewsbury Town.

The unnamed box-to-box midfielder was poised to put pen to paper on a loan deal with the Bucks at club training last night.

And utility man Mark Lees is being lined up to join Ashton United from the division below.

Boss Rob Smith said: "I'm hoping to bring in a midfielder. The paperwork is still to go through, so I don't want to say yet who it is otherwise someone else might nip in.

"But we're hopeful and he's a box-to-box midfielder who has played regularly in the Conference Premier this season.

"He's an exceptional talent on the ball, but he's not afraid to put a foot in as well."

Anderson, 18, has returned to Shrewsbury after failing to figure in the last two games.

Smith added: "Kaiman's loan has been cancelled with the agreement of the three parties It's simply because of game time as he wouldn't be getting enough minutes on the pitch here.

"Micky Mellon (Shrewsbury manager) has been brilliant and it's best for Kaiman that he goes back so he can go somewhere else on loan and get some game time.

"I'm hopeful of getting another body by the weekend and we're hoping to get another one out, either on loan or possibly permanently."

The transfer activity continues the frantic merry-go-round since Smith returned to the club in August. Midfielder Mike Grogan has gone to Warrington Town for a month.

Mason Springthorpe, Danny O'Callaghan, Jack Roberts, Alex Fletcher, loanee Amadou Bakayoko, James McQuilkin and Ben Harrison have also left since Smith's arrival, with nine new signings.
