Wolves loanee Reid celebrated his 21st birthday by starring in the 1-0 win against FC United of Manchester at New Bucks Head on Saturday.

Despite failing to cap off his big day with a goal, he impressed Bucks fans with his eager running and hold-up play.

"It was a big day and a great game for everybody – it meant a lot to everybody on the day," he said.

"The only thing was we could have won by more and I had a few chances to score but it just didn't quite go for me.

"I will be working hard and hopefully we can take the result and use it when we go to Altrincham on Saturday."

Reid was snapped up by Wolves from Wrexham in 2013. He has had two spells back on loan at the Dragons and even had a stint at New Bucks Head last year, albeit brief.

He is relishing the opportunity to get games under his belt and said: "More under-21 and under-23 players should try out the National League North as every game is life or death – people's livelihoods are on the line."
