But, despite their contrasting fortunes, Turner knows a major battle awaits in Devon against a Plymouth side who have only been beaten three teams in their last 11 games.
He said: "They are a side fighting for their lives with a lot of experience in the team, there will be a decent crowd down there and they will be behind them.
"I've no doubts it will be a dogfight and we have to make sure we go down there and put in a performance."
Town have taken just eight points from their last eight games on their travels, a record Turner is anxious to improve on as his side chase a top three finish.
He said: "The away form can be improved upon.
"I have to say that there have been games where we have deserved more than we have got and Swindon readily springs to mind.
"We have got five away games to go and, without setting the players a target, we want to get good points."
Left-back Joe Jacobson is set to overcome minor discomfort in his groin from earlier in the week to leave Shrewsbury with a clean bill of health ahead of their first trip to Plymouth since August 2001.
Teenage winger Jon Taylor is challenging to force his way back into the starting line-up, after replacing Romaine Sawyers at half-time in last week's 1-0 home victory over Burton.
Plymouth are likely to include former Town frontman Nick Chadwick, who partnered Grant Holt at Wembley in the Shrews' 2009 play-off final defeat to Gillingham.
