Shrewsbury Town's attempts to make an immediate return to the Football League following their relegation to the Conference didn't always run smoothly.

But they battled their way through to the play-offs and, having edged past Barnet in a two-legged semi-final, headed to Stoke's Britannia Stadium for the final with Aldershot.

The sides couldn't be separated through 120 tense minutes, Duane Darby grabbing the Town goal in a 1-1 draw.

It all came down to penalties and – thankfully – it was Shrewsbury who held their nerve.
