The 23-year-old made his first appearance of the season at the King Power Stadium and was part of a back four that defended resolutely to keep stars including Chris Wood, Dave Nugent and Anthony Knockaert at bay.

The former Tranmere player is now determined to maintain the high standards he's set for himself.

Grandison said: "It was absolutely amazing. We played really well and the lads absolutely worked their socks off.

"It was a great result against a Premier League team – you couldn't tell who was the Premier League side and who wasn't.

"We dominated at times, created loads of chances and passed the ball really well. We could have got even more goals and maybe should have won more comfortably."

Grandison added: "I have set my standards. I need to go out there and keep performing. It's been really difficult for me not playing but I got my chance and I took it. Now I've got to keep that up.

"That is my standard and I've got to kick on now for the rest of the season. To be part of that defence was amazing.

"We felt really comfortable. Everyone was communicating and we all knew our jobs and went out there and did them to the best of our ability."

Town fans will always remember Grandison serenading supporters on the pitch after the side clinched promotion to League One back in 2012.

And the defender believes the Leicester win will help as they look to repeat the feat this season.

He said: "After the Leicester game all the lads were buzzing. But we have a massive game on Saturday.

"We will enjoy the Leicester win but we all want to do well and get promoted – that is the main aim."
