Town allow Anthony Griffith to join Carlisle
Shrewsbury Town have settled the contract of Anthony Griffith, freeing up the midfielder to join League Two rivals Carlisle United.
The former Port Vale midfielder joined Town back in August, following a brief stint in non-league with Harrogate Town.
But, despite being popular in the dressing room, the midfield enforcer made only six appearances for the Shrewsbury first-team.
He has now joined up with Carlisle after agreeing an 18 month deal and goes straight into their squad for their game against AFC Wimbledon.
Earlier in this month, Town boss Micky Mellon confirmed he would have to move some fringe players on, if the boss wanted to make signings during the January transfer window.
A statement from Shrewsbury Town on Griffith's departure said: "Everyone at Shrewsbury Town would like to thank Griff for his contribution during his time at Town and we wish him well for the future."
