DEAL: Shrewsbury sign loan duo Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Jack Grimmer

Micky Mellon's Salop made it 14 signings this window with the duo's arrival.

Former Wolves goalscoring hero Ebanks-Blake checks into Greenhous Meadow on a short-term deal until January from Chesterfield.

The 30-year-old front man, who scored 64 times for Wolves between 2008 and 2015, enjoyed a prolific season with League One rivals Chesterfield last term.

He fired 10 goals in just 29 starts for the Spireites but has found first-team football tough to come by this term due to the form of Ched Evans.

Mellon told ShrewsWeb: "If anybody looks at Sylvan's record and we've all seen him at Wolves, he's a fantastic footballer.

"I'm delighted to get him in, he's a goalscorer, he's hungry to come here and do well.

"We've thought about him for a long time. He's local and we want to make sure players can be here within an hour."

While the forward added: "I want to play football, the manager wants me to come in and that was important to me and it was an easy decision."

Grimmer, 22, arrives from Fulham for his third loan spell at Greenhous Meadow.

The right-back, who can also provide cover at centre-half, joins on a loan deal for the rest of the 2016/17 season.

He joined on loan from the Championship side last January and still made 24 appearances in all competitions.

Grimmer said: "It's a place I know very well, because obviously it's my third stint here, so I think the club know what they're getting.

"I know what I'm getting, so it suits everyone down to the ground."

Mellon added on the full-back: "It's a no brainer to say that he's a player I rate very highly. He's a character that I rate very highly, so I'm just delighted to get him back into the football club again."
