Shrewsbury starlet Shaun Rowley joins Slough on loan
Highly-rated Shrewsbury keeper Shaun Rowley has joined Slough Town on an initial one-month loan.
Slough are flying high in the Evo-Stick Southern Premier League, eight points behind top-of-the-table Chippenham.
Manager Paul Hurst told shrewsburytown.com, "We had a call last week and I wanted to see Shaun first and foremost in the Shropshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night, so I wasn't in a position to let him go straight away.
"In the end I let Shaun have the choice of what he wanted to do and he wanted to go and play games, so I haven't got a problem with that.
"Callum's (Burton) loan is just about up at Telford, so we will have cover, but it's another experience for Shaun to go out and play games as he did earlier in the season and that can only help."
The 21-year-old has already enjoyed a successful loan spell with Chorley and Hurst is happy the stopper will be getting more game time.
"We've spoken before about how it is hard to put a goalkeeper in certain scenarios and situations, so he will get that and he is going a team that is going for promotion, so he's got a lot to play for.
"There will be an element of pressure for him to handle, which again can only be good and will help develop him as a goalkeeper, but also as a person, so fingers crossed he can go there and show his quality."
