The 32-year-old defender won the Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and the Player in the Community award at the Greenhous Meadow last night.

Sadler was a mainstay at the heart of the defence throughout the season, making 34 appearances as Town stayed up in League One.

Having played as a left-back while at the likes of Birmingham City, Watford and Walsall, and during his first spell with Salop, he has thrived at centre-half under Paul Hurst and formed a strong partnership with Toto Nsiala over the second half of the season.

Sadler chipped in with three goals over the season too – two in the league, and one in the cup.

Also among the winners on the night was Junior Brown – who won the Champagne Moment award for his crucial goal in the recent win over Southend.

Young Player of the Year went to Tyler Roberts – who impressed hugely in attack while on loan from West Bromwich Albion –while attacking midfielder Louis Dodds picked up the Top Scorer gong, having netted 10 times in all competitions.

Goal of the Season went to Shaun Whalley for his stunning strike in the 2-0 home win over Oxford United back in November.
