Despite the blow of relegation, Wolves are desperate to keep their best players and they are prepared to play hardball over the star assets.
Sunderland are keen on Fletcher and sources say the Black Cats have already asked about the £7m club record signing, while Stoke are keen on Jarvis, who boss Tony Pulis tried to sign when the winger left Gillingham for Molineux in 2007.
No bids have yet come in, but it is understood that the figures speculated on what they may be available for – £8m for Fletcher and £6m for Jarvis – are considerably lower than Wolves' valuations and that any such bids will be given short shrift. The board feel they are in a strong position to resist offers for the duo.
Both have three years left on their contracts, and Wolves are determined to keep them. If not, then the players – two of the three nominees for the club's Player of the Year – will not be allowed to go on the cheap. Wolves have other concerns too with seven players out of contract next summer.
Michael Kightly heads the list and fans are desperate to see him tied to a new deal.
