He has had torn ligaments re-attached to the joint in his left shoulder, which he dislocated in the 2-2 draw with Fleetwood in April.
"I had the operation on the Thursday after the season finished and I had my first physio appointment on Wednesday," he revealed.
"It was pretty sore for the first few days but it seems okay now. I'm having physio to help me get full movement back. Once I've got that I can work on my weights again.
"I think I'll be able to start running in the next three or four weeks, but I will have to see the specialist before I can do any contact sport.
"I'm looking to the end of July to be back playing. That's the aim"
