Striker Husbands is due to complete his month's loan from Macclesfield with Saturday's trip to the Blue Square North's bottom club Leigh RMI.

But the 24-year-old, who has scored in both of his last two outings, is looking a big doubt for that one after sustaining the injury in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat at Nuneaton in the Setanta Shield.

"He's got to have a scan on his knee, but it looks like he's got suspected ligament damage," boss Rob Smith confirmed.

"He got some real rough treatment at Nuneaton. The tackle from behind is supposed to have been outlawed but nobody got booked for all the tackles on him.

"He's going for a scan at Macclesfield tomorrow, but it looks like we won't see him in a Telford shirt again.

"He's done well and we would have been interested in extending his loan, but if he has done his ligaments then he could be out for five or six weeks."

Meanwhile, injured midfielder Jamie Vermiglio has had an X-ray which has confirmed he has not broken his ribs.

But he has suffered soft tissue damage and Smith does not expect him back until the trip to Tamworth on Boxing Day.

The squad is likely to be stretched over the festive period, with midfielders Carl Rodgers and Chris Cornes both set to be ruled out for the Tamworth game after picking up their fifth bookings of the season at Nuneaton.
