Telford back to winning ways

A good performance and four goals against Hayes and Yeading ensured the Bucks got back to winning ways and progressed to the next round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy,
A trip to either Kettering or Tiverton Town now awaits in the fourth round of what assistant Larry Chambers has called the biggest tournament in non-league football.
It was a good performance and a good result – especially after the last two games. It was important Telford got back to winning ways and hopefully we can go on another cup run to match the success so far in the Setanta Shield.
It would be great for us fans if we managed to go on a good run in the FA Trophy as well. Everyone wants to see the Bucks doing well on all fronts and a run could only give the players and everyone associated with the club a boost and a bit more confidence.
It would also be a massive boost for us to win the re-arranged Setanta Shield game with Kettering and go on to win the tournament now that we have come so far.
We now need to build on last night's result and get back to winning ways in the league. This is vital as Tamworth and Southport are now starting to open up a small but significant gap at the top of the table and we have now dropped down to fourth – from a position two games ago where we could have gone top of the league.
There is still a long, long way to go in the league but it would be disappointing to slip away from a title challenge after all the hard work that has been done so far.
As I have said before, I would sacrifice the cup runs if it meant we would go on to get promoted.
Let's see if we can pick up another three points on Saturday at The New Bucks Head against Hyde United.
