Things looking 'good' at Bridgnorth school
Claverley Primary School, near Bridgnorth, has been rated 'good' by Government education watchdog Ofsted.
Headteacher Jo Derrer said the report reflected the hard work and commitment of all the staff, governors and children.
She said: "We receive a lot of support from parents and the community.
"This report highlights all the things we do well and indicates the targets we need to work on to move the school forward."
In July, inspectors spent two days at the school watching lessons, talking to teachers and children, and looking into a parents' survey.
The report stated: "Leaders, including governors, have been successful in raising pupils' achievement in reading, writing and mathematics, and in improving attendance and behaviour.
"Children make good progress throughout key stages one and two.
"The school has a strong community spirit. All staff are good role models and pupils' welfare has a high priority."
The school received further praise for helping disadvantaged pupils, disabled pupils and those who had special educational needs make good progress.
Pupils' behaviour was also seen as good, polite, caring, respectful and supportive of others.
Ms Derrer said: "The school has welcomed 14 new starters this term who have settled in well.
"Everyone is excited about the new school year and building on the things the school does well."
