Beacon Radio set for merger

Beacon Radio is merging its West Midlands and Shropshire stations, it was revealed today.

It puts an end to decades of separate services offered by Beacon Radio, based on Wolverhampton's Tettenhall Road.

The changes, from Monday, come as its owner Orion Media takes advantage of a relaxation of rules that come from the Digital Economy Act. Fresh and Jo from Beacon WM's breakfast will continue and be heard in Shropshire.
