Shropshire Star is integral part of business to car dealer Furrows

One of Shropshire's most important businesses is car dealer Furrows, an integral part of the county with bases in Telford, Shrewsbury and Oswestry.

The company, which has its headquarters in Haybridge Road, Wellington, has a long-standing relationship with the Shropshire Star and the newspaper's weekly titles.

Furrows managing director Bill Cooper is in no doubt about the importance to his business of a robust local newspaper – both in terms of advertising and editorial.

Mr Cooper said: "The newspaper is an important part of the business community and the community at large.

"It gives us an opportunity to get our goods and services in front of a large local audience.

"We're very fortunate in Shropshire to have an excellent quality newspaper. It wasn't until I stepped outside Shropshire that I realised how few parts of the UK have the same quality as us."
