New head chef appointed at Telford International Centre
Telford's major conference centre has appointed a new head chef.
Tom Harris has taken over the role at The International Centre, having picked up wide-ranging experience at other large venues across the UK.
He previously worked as executive chef at Silverstone Motor Circuit and as a head chef at Eton Dorney during the Paralympics.
"Food is an integral part of any successful event, whether it's a simple buffet or a formal gala dinner, and I am keen to ensure all our customers receive the very best we can offer," Mr Harris said.
"We believe that despite the size and scale of the dinners and conferences at our venue, we must ensure that the very last plate served looks and tastes as good as the first one.
"So I will be working very closely with all the members of my brigade and sharing my knowledge to help them build on the strong skills they already have in place."
The International Centre is part of the Southwater Event Group, and chief executive Tom Gray said the appointment of an executive head chef was of crucial importance.
"We host all kinds of events here in Telford, and we needed an executive head chef who was skilful and creative, and someone who was totally flexible in order to cater for so many different occasions," he added.
"Tom's arrival is great news for us, and we're sure our customers will thoroughly enjoy his food – his new seasonal menus are already proving extremely popular, and his commitment to serving food of the very highest quality is clear in every plate he prepares."
