Major Shropshire projects bring new appointment
A building firm in Shropshire has made a new appointment to its senior staff as it expands on the back of several large local contract wins.
R E Brown Builders in Battlfield, Shrewsbury, has appointed Paul Lawrence from Gobowen as its new contracts manager. He will oversee several major contracts which are already under way in the county.
It comes after R E Brown won the commission to refurbish the former Halls premises in Frankwell, in readiness for Hatchers Solicitors to move into the offices.
Other prestigious contract work includes the provision of a new squash court at Shrewsbury Squash & Racket Club at Sundorne Castle, together with the building of ten new apartments for Newport Medical Practice at Gnosall, a project that is now nearing completion.
Company boss Ron Brown said: "Due to expansion of the business we have appointed Paul as contracts manager as he brings with him a wealth of industry experience and expertise, and we welcome him as a valuable addition to our team.
"We are extremely pleased to have won some substantial contracts recently in the face of stiff competition and of course in the current economic climate, and we are delighted to have renewed our longstanding partnership with The Wrekin Housing Trust, to carry out all of their external maintenance work."
Mr Lawrence has been in the industry for 40 years, and is a qualified carpenter.
