Last month the Whitchurch firm cut the ribbon on its 43,000 sq ft frozen foods warehouse, and will now add the roles to its warehousing division.

The company employs more than 300 people, with a wage bill of £9 million.

Joint managing director Linda Grocott said: "The new jobs are as a result of increased business with existing customers and from securing several new business wins.

"Our business has continued to grow in recent years, in spite of the challenges of a tough economy.

"We are very pleased to be able to support the local area with the creation of new jobs."

Human resources manager Jill Jones said the company was ideally looking for staff who had previously worked in a similar environment.

She said: "The warehousing team is the backbone of our operation and we are very proud of the retention rate we have for staff working in this area of the business."

The work will involve loading and unloading vehicles, forklift operation and storage of products in line with food safety, hygiene and customer codes of practice.

Grocontinental, which this month was named Company of the Year at the Shropshire Business Awards, is also recruiting a Transport Planner for its distribution team on a 12-hour four-days-on, four-days-off shift basis.
