Eagle Motorbikes was launched by Tom Robinson and his father Terry, and will sell motorbike parts and accessories, as well as providing a workshop for bikes.

The duo decided to buy the assets of the Wellington-based business, which entered liquidation in January, after initially going out just to buy a helmet and expressing dissatisfaction with similar services on offer around the county.

Tom, 27, who also runs security firm Eagle Protection Services, said: "I passed my motorcycle test over Christmas, and needed to get a helmet.

"We went out to try and find one, but ended up buying a company instead.

"I have been into motorbikes for my entire life, and I went round Shropshire and Staffordshire looking for clothing but the services we received were never quite what I was looking for. That led me to have a look into it, so I went to the Wylie and Holland open day and put a bid in."

The business has now moved into its own offices on Centurion Park on Kendal Road in Shrewsbury's Battlefield area, and will offer servicing and MOTs, as well as a shop for bikers' equipment including helmets, clothing, parts and accessories.

It is designed to supply to a broad range of customers with interests in all aspects of biking, from hard rockers on Harley Davidsons through to scooter enthusiasts.

"It's everything from the Hell's Angels through to your custom bikes and stock bikes," Tom Robinson added. "There's something missing at the moment and we hope to be catering for that gap with a very personal and friendly service."

Mr Robinson added: "I want people to feel happy to approach us and see what we can do for them.

"We have not got any firm employees at the moment, but we are looking for a mechanic. I have an assistant that works with me on the security side, and we are both very passionate about motorbikes and we are undertaking all the work that is coming in at present.

"I am dealing with the shop and customers at the moment, and my dad is doing a lot of background work, including what we are doing online."
